Bursting forth from humble but deep Ohio roots, Seattle three-piece Fluung has steadily found a foothold in the Seattle DIY music scene with their amplifier-worshipping brand of rock. Conceived in October 2017 when guitarist Donald Wymer moved from Cleveland to the Northwest to reunite former bandmates Drew Davis and Brad Blasini, Fluung quickly found a sound that is intrinsically Seattle. Historically, the three played in different bands pigeonholed into ridgid genres such as skramz, shoegaze, and hardcore. With Fluung the friends strived to create something birthed out of intentionality and nuance. The result is an exploration of sonic structures ranging anywhere from powerful classic rock to bluesy, oft alt-country twang and wham. Fluung’s newly released EP “Spirit Well” will serve as a launching pad for a full length effort.
