Retrospecter's mathy indie rock alternates between moments of melodic calm and intense heavily distorted ferver, but remains pleasantly lush throughout. They blend delicate and dreamy shoegaze melodies with heavier passages and riffage drawn from their punk roots. Surfing the line between these two opposing ideals, and existing between Seattle and Tacoma is where their sound is created. Defying genres since 2014, they have consistently been doing their own thing and not giving a fuck.
Crooked Moon, the bands second album via Den Tapes could be considered their darkest project to date. Just when you think there's a mood to settle into on any given song, they will pull you in another direction.
